To say that the holidays are our favorite time of year is an understatement. From festive theater like Christmas on the Rocks to dozens of Nutcracker performances, there’s no shortage of things to see in Hartford. Not to mention the most exciting part of it all –  gift giving. Whether it’s giving back to the community in the form of charity or shopping for loved ones, the holidays are all about giving back. So, we’ve rounded up a list of places to shop for handmade goods created by local artists that will not only surprise the people on your holiday list, but also help make our community flourish. 

Old State House Holiday Shopping Fair: December 8 – 10, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Connecticut’s Old State House Holiday Shopping Fair is one of the best! Shop handmade jewelry, holiday decorations, clothing, pottery, soaps, candles, crafts all provided by Connecticut-based artisans and vendors. More info.

Hartford Holiday Bazaar Part 1 -December 11, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Part 1 features an in-store pop-up at Hartford Prints! with other vendors including Hartford Denim Company, The Brothers Crisp, and de Muerte USA.  More info.

Hartford Holiday Bazaar Part 2 – December 12, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

In case you miss the Friday night pop-up, stop by on Saturday to shop from all of Friday’s vendors and many more. More info.

Winters Eve Creative Cocktail Hour & Holiday Market – December 17, 6 p.m.

The monthly Creative Cocktail Hour at Real Art Ways will feature a host of local vendors where you can do your last-minute gift shopping. The lineup includes Hartford Prints!, Omusono, Glitter and Bold, Juniper Vintage, De Muerte, Kate Stephen Jewelry, and many more. More info.
