There’s nothing wrong with indulging in the Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday madness, but after several days of retail overload we’re ready to give back! Giving Tuesday, an initiative launched in 2012 by 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation, is a global day of giving to non-profits, charities, and causes. It’s a time to give thanks to the organizations that improve our quality of life and communities, as well as those charitable organizations that are just getting off the ground. At the Arts Council, we make it a mission to support both – from Hebrew Health Care’s art therapy program for patients with Alzheimer’s and dementia, to Neighborhood Studios, an apprenticeship program for teens aspiring to work in the arts. And we couldn’t have done any of it without you! Every contribution, regardless of the size, goes a long way. Watch how your generous gifts to the Arts Council have made an impact:
Today, our staff is giving back to various places, in addition to the arts. Wanna join the fun? Take your own #UNselfie and tag us @LetsGoArts_Org on Twitter and Instagram to let us know where you’re giving. Remember to #SupportTheArts!
